Now in its second year, ART IN THE AISLES is scheduled to coincide with the first weekend of OPEN UP SHEFFIELD.

Sheffield is a city of artists and makers and is famed for having one of the highest concentrations of studios outside of London. Open Up Sheffield welcomes the public to visit working studios, talk to the artists and makers and have the chance to buy original pieces of work. Walkley is lucky to boast a cluster of exceptional Artists who will be taking part in Open Up.

The premise of Art in the Aisles is to give local Artists and Craftspeople an opportunity to showcase their talents, even if they don’t have a studio to ‘open up’. Priority is given to Artists from Walkley and surrounding areas and all artists that take part are connected to Sheffield.  

3rd & 4th May 2025

Not only are we hosting over 30 local ARTISTS and CRAFTSPEOPLE but there will be LIVE MUSIC from local MUSICIANS, HOT FOOD from talented local CHEFS, CAKES from LOCAL BAKERS and BEER from local BREWERS!! What’s not to love??

We’re absolutely delighted to be adding a dedicated area for EMERGING ARTISTS this year. Giving opportunities to first-time exhibitors and supporting them through the process. Hopefully helping their practice go from strength to strength.
