We had a hugely successful campaign stall at the festival. Our aim was to raise awareness about deep-sea mining and the devastating effects to deep-sea marine life and the impact in the environment as a whole.
We encouraged families to paint a pebble with an octopus which will be sent to Greenpeace HQ and used to form a large collage along with pebbles from other stalls.
Walkley Festival goers were more than happy to engage, painting almost 100 pebbles on the day with lots of people signing up to our petition.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend again this year and we hope very much to see you all again next year.
The Walkley Festival Finale at Ruskin Park is an annual Walkley highlight and today's event was fantastic. Big community events like this require a lot of effort, time and goodwill from volunteers, local community groups and businesses. Thank you to the festival organisers and to everyone involved in making the event happen.
