This festive favourite is back…we’ll be trimming the trees and lighting up Walkley Green (opposite Asda). There’ll be Yuletide Musical Magic from The Honey Bees and Crookes Brass Band!!!
To keep your cockles even warmer, Walkley Events Collective will be serving Mulled Wine and Mince Pies, Sweet Treats and Hot Choccy! We’re raising funds for our 2026 events! Bring your friends and family along for a dollop of Community Christmas Spirit! Definitely one not to miss!! We’ll be kicking things off at 6pm.
AND…Walkley Library will be staying open later, for some Tree Trimming and Family Fun.
Walkley Events Collective brings you a Community Christmas Market like no other! Expect a church full of stalls with a fantastic range of quality gifts from our local makers: jewellery, chocolate, crochet, prints, honey, books, textiles, candles and so much more.
Enjoy some incredible tasty and authentic Hot Street Food and the best Homemade Cakes whilst listening to some live music at the altar. Refreshing festive cocktails, mulled wine, Little Meisters ale, baileys hot chocolate and other refreshments will be available from our Alpine Bar.
Join in our festive Christmas Treasure Trail (starting at the Library and ending at St Mary’s) and meet Mrs Christmas and her Elves (with donations to S6 Food Bank). Face Painting and children’s activities are also available. Try your luck on our quality traders Raffle and Tombola where all funds raised along with Donations on the Door, go towards future Walkley Community Events.
It’s a full day of warm festive cheer set within the beautifully decorated St. Mary’s Church in Walkley.
Banish those winter blues and pop along to the final Pop Up Café for a FREE drink and sweet treat and a VERY warm welcome. If you’re not sure where the Bungalow is, head to the website for details of how to find us.
There’ll be a ‘normal’ Pop Up Café on Tuesday 9th December, the only thing missing will be mince pies and music!

There’ll be singing to start and dancing to finish at our Christmas Cracker Disco. Drinks and Snacks will be available, Dressing Up is encouraged and Festive Fun is definitely forecast!

On a chilly Friday evening, Walkley & Langsett welcomed their very own Lantern Parade, celebrating unity with Samba rhythms leading the way. The parade even featured a glowing whale and shimmering lobster, weaving their way around branches and fences surrounding Walkley Primary School. To round off the excitement, everyone was treated to a selection of free homemade soup and bread (donated by WECCIC) – perfect for warming up before heading into The Bungalow for home-baked goodies and drinks from the Langsett & Walkley Community Association (LWCA). Overall, it was a fantastic event that brought the community together to kick off the festive season.
A big, big thank you to Zest & LWCA for organising this lovely event, to Rivelin Co. For running the Lantern Making Workshops and to Patrick Amber for loan of the ‘Big Lanterns’.
The Walkley Community was treated to Carols on Millennium Green with the peerless Salvation Army Band. The tree was decorated, the wine was mulled and the mince was pied and a marvellous time was had by all
