Theme; Architecture and changes of use to public buildings in Walkley.
As part of the National Heritage Open Days (HOD)September 12th – 21st, On Saturday 20th, Walkley will be staging activities and displays in a number of its historic buildings including Walkley St Mary’s Church, Walkley Community Centre, Fir Street, Sheffield Buddhist Centre (formerly St Joseph’s Industrial School). More venues to follow. Most evets run from 10.00 to 16.00, but two venues will open for the afternoon only. Please check the hours for each building nearer the time or check the online HOD brochure.
Provisional List of buildings and Organisations
• Walkley Community Centre, Fir Street
• St Mary’s Church & Bell Tower (TBC) Howard Road
• Sheffield Buddhist Centre, (St Joseph’s Hospital & Industrial School)
• Walkley Ebenezer building schoolroom(TBC)
• Walkley Carnegie Library.

• Paul Fox, Exhibition on Transport buildings in S6.
• The Long Lost Loos of Walkley.
• Display about the former Walkley St Mary’s School and Walkley Institute, Howard Road. Now the home of Sheffield Spiritualist Church and Walkley Yoga Centre. (Opening TBC or a display in St Mary’s Church)
